DRAFTER
Job Title: Building Drafter – Construction
Job Description:
The Building Drafter is responsible for preparing accurate architectural and construction drawings based on project requirements, design specifications, site conditions, and instructions from engineers, architects, and project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed architectural, structural, and construction drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
Produce floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and layout drawings.
Convert design concepts, sketches, and technical information into accurate working drawings.
Revise and update drawings according to consultant, client, engineer, or project team comments.
Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and submission drawings.
Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other building services requirements.
Check drawing dimensions, specifications, and technical details for accuracy and consistency.
Assist engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, and project managers with drawing-related requirements.
Attend site visits when necessary to verify measurements and existing site conditions.
Maintain proper drawing registers, revision records, and document control.
Ensure all drawings follow company standards, project specifications, and relevant authority requirements.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants regarding drawing clarifications.
Prepare presentation drawings and technical details for project meetings when required.
Support tender preparation and construction documentation.
Update drawings based on actual site progress and approved variations.
Ensure timely submission of drawings according to project schedules.
Perform other drafting and technical documentation duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
Diploma or relevant qualification in Architectural Technology, Building Drafting, Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
Relevant experience in building or construction drafting.
Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting or design software.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
Good understanding of construction methods, building components, and technical detailing.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Able to work independently and meet project deadlines.
