Draftsman (CAD Specialist)
About the Job:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and resourceful Draftsman (CAD Specialist) to join our team! In this role, you’ll transform architectural concepts, client requirements, and project specifications into accurate, construction-ready drawings while ensuring precision and compliance with project standards. You’ll work closely with architects, designers, engineers, and project managers on residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects, contributing to space planning, detailed drawing packages, and organized project documentation. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is essential, along with a strong understanding of architectural drafting, construction methods, and technical documentation in a fast-paced design environment.
What You'll Do:
- Review and interpret architectural plans, client requirements, design briefs, and technical specifications.
- Prepare detailed and accurate CAD drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction documents for architectural and interior design projects.
- Ensure all drawings and project documentation are complete, precise, and compliant with company standards, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate closely with architects, designers, engineers, and project managers to address technical concerns and support smooth project execution.
- Apply knowledge of construction methods, space planning, and drafting standards to ensure dimensional accuracy and design feasibility.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, design conflicts, or technical issues within drawings and project documentation proactively.
- Utilize AutoCAD to create, revise, and update 2D architectural drawings and layouts.
- Use Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) to manage project documentation, schedules, reports, and communications.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in drafting standards, documentation processes, and project coordination workflows.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
- With 1–3 years of experience in order processing, drafting, or engineering support within a custom manufacturing or construction-related environment.
- Proven understanding of construction techniques and building systems.
- Industry experience in a custom manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and spatial reasoning skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to articulate technical information clearly.
- Highly resourceful and able to work independently to solve complex problems.
- Strong focus, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple orders/projects simultaneously.
- A natural problem-solver with a “puzzle-solver” mindset
