About the Role:

As a Draftsman, you will play a critical role in transforming conceptual designs and engineering ideas into detailed technical drawings and plans that guide the construction and manufacturing processes. Your work will ensure that all designs are accurately represented, compliant with industry standards, and ready for implementation by engineers, architects, and construction teams. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to interpret specifications and incorporate feedback into precise drawings. The role demands a high level of attention to detail and proficiency in drafting software to produce clear, comprehensive, and error-free documentation. Ultimately, your contributions will facilitate the successful realization of projects by providing the essential visual and technical foundation required for execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical drafting program or associate degree in drafting, design technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar drafting tools.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawing standards, symbols, and conventions.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering or architectural principles relevant to the projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret technical specifications accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a construction, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and processes.
  • Certification from recognized drafting or design organizations (e.g., Certified Drafter or similar).
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and construction methods.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed technical drawings and plans based on sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions from engineers and architects.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop, modify, and optimize drawings for various projects including architectural, mechanical, and civil engineering designs.
  • Review and revise drawings to ensure accuracy, compliance with industry standards, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to clarify design details, resolve discrepancies, and incorporate changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation to support efficient workflow and project tracking.

Skills:

The required skills, such as proficiency in CAD software and understanding of technical drawing standards, are essential for producing precise and clear drawings that serve as the blueprint for project execution. Attention to detail ensures that all measurements and specifications are accurate, reducing errors and costly revisions during construction or manufacturing. Preferred skills like familiarity with BIM software enhance the ability to work within integrated project environments, improving coordination and efficiency. Communication skills are vital for interpreting instructions and collaborating with engineers, architects, and project managers to refine designs. Together, these skills enable the Draftsman to deliver high-quality technical documentation that supports successful project outcomes.
