Drama - Artistic Director

The PCS Theater Department Artistic Director provides Christ-centered leadership for the Peoria Christian School Theater Program. This position exists to educate and train students with a mission-aligned, educationally meaningful, and artistically excellent drama program for grades 5-12.
The Artistic Director is responsible for educating and training students about theater history, purpose, and techniques. The Artistic Director will assist in directing plays and musicals, mentoring students, selecting appropriate scripts and materials, coordinating rehearsals and performances, and ensuring that the drama program reflects the mission, vision, Statement of Faith, Expected Student Outcomes, Employee Handbook, and Bylaws of Peoria Christian School.
At PCS, drama is more than a stage. It is a place for formation, creativity, truth-telling, service, worship, and Christlike growth.

Purpose of the Position
The purpose of the Artistic Director is to direct shows that:

• glorify God through the arts
• support the mission and vision of PCS
• reflect a biblical worldview
• develop the whole student
• strengthen the Fine Arts Department
• provide meaningful theatrical opportunities for students in grades 5-12
• cultivate student growth in the PCS Expected Student Outcomes
• operate with wise stewardship of time, facilities, finances, volunteers, and student capacity
• produce excellent theatrical work in a healthy, sustainable, and Christ-centered way
