Drill & Blast Engineer: Field Data, QA/QC & Reporting

Summary

Field engineer collects drilling/blasting data, runs QA/QC checks, and prepares reports for mining operations in Indonesia.

Duties

  • Collect drilling and blasting reports according to the agreed schedule as supporting data, verification data, and evaluation material for blasting results.
  • Ensure the implementation and verification of Drill & Blast QA/QC reports.
  • Collect raw data of air blast and vibration from contractors and the environmental department immediately after blasting activities, then properly store the data on the server and analysis table.
  • Send actual blast boundary and actual volume data to all stakeholders as required.
  • Assist in collecting and providing XYZ analysis (floor prediction) under the supervision of the DnB Engineer.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in submitting drilling reports, blasting reports, weekly performance reports, sleep blast reports, and field crew reports.
  • Prepare and ensure all morning briefing requirements are completed correctly.
  • Manage both electronic and hard-copy filing systems for drill and blast data.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale).
  • Experience or academic projects related to drilling and blasting will be an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of drilling and blasting operations, including drilling patterns, explosives, and detonation systems.
  • Familiarity with mining software such as Viewshot, Surpac, or Shotplus is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of geotechnical principles and the influence of rock characteristics on blast design.
  • Ability to assist in planning and monitoring drill and blast operations while considering time, cost, and resource efficiency.
  • Understanding of basic safety principles in drill and blast operations and commitment to workplace safety procedures.
  • Basic understanding of explosives regulations and field safety standards.
  • Proactive, fast learner, adaptable, and ready to work in challenging field conditions.
  • Awareness of company safety and environmental standards.
