The Role:

We are looking for a reliable, safety-focused and professional Driver to join our busy Operations and Logistics team at Avtron on a 12-month secondment/fixed-term contract.
The Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials, equipment and finished goods between Avtron sites, suppliers and customers. You will play an important role in supporting our manufacturing and logistics operations, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, accurately and on time.
This is a hands-on and varied role that will suit someone with commercial driving experience who takes pride in their work, has a strong focus on safety and enjoys working collaboratively within a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out deliveries and collections safely and in line with planned schedules, ensuring materials, equipment and finished goods are transported accurately and on time.
Load, secure, transport and unload materials and equipment, operating lifting and securing equipment safely and ensuring loads comply with legal and company requirements.
Carry out daily vehicle checks, report defects promptly and ensure company vehicles are maintained in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition.
Complete delivery documentation, obtain signatures where required and communicate any delays, issues or concerns to the Logistics Manager.
Support warehouse, packing and wider logistics activities when required, including stock movements between manufacturing sites, while complying with company safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Job Requirements:

Full UK driving licence with a clean or acceptable driving record; C1 licence is desirable but not essential.
Previous experience driving commercial vans or flatbed vehicles, with a good understanding of load restraint and safe transportation practices.
Forklift Truck (FLT) licence and experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Good understanding of vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, with a strong commitment to health and safety.
Good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, manage delivery schedules and contribute positively as part of a wider team; Driver CPC qualification is desirable.
