Job Responsibilities of a Courier Driver

A courier driver is responsible for transporting packages and parcels from the warehouse or distribution center to customers and designated delivery points. The driver ensures that all deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on time according to the assigned delivery schedule and routes.

Key responsibilities include loading and unloading parcels, checking delivery orders, and ensuring that packages are handled carefully to prevent damage. The driver must verify delivery addresses, collect parcels from senders when required, and obtain signatures or electronic confirmation from customers upon successful delivery.

In addition, the courier driver is responsible for planning efficient delivery routes, maintaining communication with the dispatch or warehouse team, and reporting any delivery issues such as incorrect addresses, customer unavailability, or damaged parcels. The driver may also handle returned parcels and bring them back to the warehouse when necessary.
