Description
The Prince George’s County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) is seeking a full-time Driver.
Drivers are responsible for transporting and delivering books, library materials, interoffice mail, supplies, and equipment to 19 library locations throughout Prince George’s County and other facilities across the metropolitan area. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a box truck, cargo van, or other assigned vehicle for up to eight (8) hours per workday.
Essential Functions:
- Drive library vehicles to deliver books, supplies and materials.
- Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Ensure security of vehicle including contents and keys.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and coordinate maintenance.
- Sort and distribute mail and materials post delivery.
- Maintain accurate daily records and follow all safety protocols.
- Collect deposits as needed.
- Assist with special projects and train new staff, as needed.
