Position Summary:

Safely operate a GWH-owned, leased, or rented Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) to pick up and deliver goods and equipment to multiple retail locations in the greater Houston area. Complete assigned trailer swaps. Daily local routes will be assigned to ensure the timely and efficient flow of goods. The shift will be at least twelve (12) hours.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Safely operate tractor-trailers in accordance with traffic laws and GWH policies and procedures.

Adhere to U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Follow Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and report all defects to Dispatch.

Ensure vehicles are compliant with weight and load limits.

Deliver and pick up goods and equipment from GWH retail locations.

Ensure cargo is properly loaded and verify load accuracy when it is operationally safe to do so.

Must safely secure and transport empty equipment to GWH locations.

Complete all routes assigned daily within the timeframe.

Maintain contact with Dispatch for routing and instructions.

Transport merchandise in a safe, efficient manner.

Collaborate with retail associates at the location to safely load vehicles.

Notify Dispatch of all unplanned stops or any action that would delay or interfere with the assigned routes.

Report all accidents, mechanical issues, and any interactions with law enforcement or government authorities.

Perform other duties as directed by management to support evolving organizational needs.

Ability to multitask, make quick decisions, adapt to change, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Adhere to all GWH Policies & Procedures, Loss Prevention & Safety Regulations, and GWH Guiding Principles.

Must be punctual, maintain a professional appearance, and perform expected duties.

Must perform all duties according to GWH safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping standards, and ensure all walkways are clear and free of clutter.

Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.



Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma or the equivalent is preferred.

A minimum of one (1) year of driving experience is required.

Must have a valid Class A Texas Driver’s License.

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to understand safety instructions, standard operating procedures, and workplace communications.

HOS knowledge and experience, as well as managing driving logs, are required.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.

Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, evenings, overnight, and weekend shifts.

Must have reliable transportation.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for current or future employment. GWH does not offer visa sponsorship for employment purposes.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced.

Continuous standing/walking; frequent physical exertion.

Lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.

Ability to get in and out of trucks; sit for long periods.

Moderate indoor noise with outside exposure.
