Job: Driver Coach

Summary
The Driver Coach plays a key role in building and maintaining a strong team of professional drivers. This position is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and retaining drivers while also serving as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters. The Driver Coach ensures drivers feel supported, valued, and set up for success by providing coaching, handling concerns, and fostering a positive and safe work environment.
What does a normal day look like?
- Source, screen, and interview prospective drivers to ensure alignment with company standards.
- Facilitate smooth onboarding and orientation to set new hires up for long-term success.
- Act as a mentor and coach to drivers, providing guidance on performance, safety, and professional development.
- Develop strategies to improve driver engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Conduct regular check-ins with drivers to ensure they have the resources and support needed to succeed.
- Serve as the first point of contact for driver-related concerns, resolving issues promptly and fairly.
- Provide coaching and corrective action where appropriate, maintaining compliance with company policies.
- Support an open-door environment that promotes trust and transparent communication.
- Reinforce DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in training initiatives and monitor compliance with hours-of-service and other regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Safety and Operations teams to identify risk areas and implement improvement plans.
- Perform related duties as assigned
What makes this job right for you?
- 3+ years of experience in transportation, or driver recruiting
- Proficiency in Microsoft office programs
- Knowledge of transportation management systems.
