Driver/Dispatcher Job Description
The Delivery Driver / Dispatcher is essential to fulfilling our mission and reaching our objectives. In this position, you will oversee the effective functioning of the delivery process, which encompasses the safe operation of a motor vehicle, the delivery of goods, and customer service. Your responsibilities will include selecting and preparing orders for customer delivery, ensuring that all deliveries are made promptly and accurately along designated routes. You will also be required to complete the necessary documentation for delivered items in accordance with company procedures and customer or vendor guidelines. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping the vehicle organized and adhering to company policies related to vehicle maintenance, services, and driver conduct.
- Loading and unloading merchandise using required machinery and tools
- Manage the operation of forklifts.
- Conduct daily inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and carry out vehicle maintenance.
- Prepare the appropriate paperwork for the items that have been received
- Adhere to the company's guidelines concerning vehicle upkeep, service procedures, and driver regulations
- Provide support to the inside sales representatives and/or warehouse staff as required.
- Order pulling and put aways in warehouse bins
- It is required that the person can lift and handle loads of up to 50lb independently, without the use of mechanical assistance
- Managing delivery logistics and designing routes based on the preferences of each customer
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
- Strategize and manage communication with customers regarding delivery specifics, including pickup or delivery schedules using Google Maps, and accommodating special requests
- Ordering pulling and organizing product by storing items in designated bins within the warehouse
- Conveying messages, including work orders, to and from work crews, field inspectors, supervisors, and emergency personnel via telephone, two-way radios, or text messages
- Strong problem-solving, including handling requests for services and equipment.
