Driver Hostler

Position Summary and Responsibilities:The Driver Hostler DOT position is responsible for moving and preparing transportation equipment throughout the yard.

Drive equipment to and from the service area.
Drive equipment to the warehouse loading dock.
Park equipment in the designated parking areas.
Connect equipment using proper techniques.
Driver will be required to operate a commercial vehicle on public roadways.
Perform duties by following the Company’s safety standards.
Represent Ben E. Keith Company with professionalism, maintaining a positive attitude and dress code.
Report issues to supervisor/manager.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor/manager.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have a valid class A CDL.
High School Education/GED required

Physical Requirements:

Able to perform repetitive lifting of over 50lbs., occasional lifting over 100lbs.
Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
Must be able to walk extensively.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend at the waist, stoop, and squat to lift heavy items in a proper manner.
Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrist, hands, feet and legs.
Must be able to read numbers and product descriptions.

Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith. We use dash cameras which leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events and improve driver safety performance. The videos are also used to exonerate drivers in accidents. All drivers sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding.
