SummaryDrives vehicle to transport donated materials from collection to processing to point of sale. Accepts merchandise donations according to procedure in manual. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Load and sort materials on trailers and straight trucks according to instructions.
Drive box truck to various donation sites and unload materials in a safe and efficient manner.
Maintains records of donations and provides daily reports on trailer and straight truck condition.
Maintain driving and truck records, including maintenance and mileage reports. Keeps the truck equipped with a first aid kit and fire extinguisher.
Operate equipment in a safe manner while identifying and correcting any outstanding safety concerns.
Adhere to local and state traffic regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Must have a valid Driver’s License and current Medical Examiner's Certificate. Driving record of the past 3 years must be insurable. (No tickets or driving violations 4 points or less).
Must have actual driving experience for at least 1-1/2 ton van type truck with an acceptable driving record.
Able to maintain daily reports of mileage, fuel usage, and similar trip documents.
Must maintain the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to load and unload trucks of merchandise, including clothing, household goods, furniture, and appliances.
Ability to follow a map to a route efficiently.
Qualifications
Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens. Employee must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.
