Job Summary: The Direct Service Representative works with other members of the distribution team to increase company profitability and customer satisfaction by delivering complete, accurate and on-time deliveries to the company’s customers. The driver will represent the company in a highly professional, safe and cost-effective manner that complies with DOT and other applicable regulations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Prepares truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items and verifying the accuracy of customer orders.

• Delivers orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and customers’ needs. This may include stocking and rotation of product on specific routes.

• Assists customers with new orders and respectfully handles issues in a timely manner.

• Collects payment for products delivered, makes necessary changes, and records transactions on proper paperwork obtaining customer’s signature. Delivers payments to manager at the end of shift.

• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water daily. Alerts management of necessary or required maintenance/repairs needed on the delivery vehicle in a prompt manner. Completes daily post-trip vehicle inspection report according to company policy and DOT guidelines.

• Attends company meetings and training programs.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to communicate with customers, complete required paperwork, follow safety instructions, and comply with DOT requirements.
