Driver - Residential
Job Summary
As a CDL Truck Driver, you will safely operate vehicles and mechanized devices while following established routes in residential areas (Truck types: side load, roll-off, rear-load, cart delivery box trucks, mobile cart washing, and fork trucks).
This position is Safety Sensitive. It requires drug and alcohol testing in compliance with 49 CFR part 382, this includes marijuana. This position also requires an active DOT health card. To get a DOT health card, candidates must have a valid Minnesota Drivers License.
Primary Job Duties
- Safely operate garbage trucks in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working condition, reporting any maintenance or safety issues.
- Drive assigned routes to pick up waste and recycling according to schedule.
- Secure all loads to prevent spillage, and ensure proper unloading at designated waste facilities, landfills, or recycling centers.
- Complete route sheets, vehicle condition reports and other necessary paperwork accurately and timely.
- Provide courteous and respectful service to customers, address basic inquiries or direct them to customer service if needed.
- Communicate with dispatch and other team members about route changes, delays, breakdowns, or emergencies.
- Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and internal company policies including hours of service, drug/alcohol testing, and electronic logging requirements.
Education and Experience
- Class A or B CDL License Valid for the state of Minnesota is required to be held and maintained at all times during employment.
- No Air Brake Restrictions
- Clean Driving Record
- Mapping Skills
- 18 years of age or older & legally authorized to work in the US
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and sitting for long periods of time.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT health evaluation, and physical assessment.
- This is a safety-sensitive position subject to drug testing requirements in compliance with 49 CFR part 382, this does include marijuana testing.
