Driver Substitute

The schedule varies based on Delivery Team coverage needs. The position guarantees two 8-hour shifts per month, with the possibility of additional hours when available.

Position Summary

The Driver operates Dauphin County Library System (The Library)’s delivery vehicle over a specific route of designated stops, according to a predetermined time schedule. This position handles and sorts various library materials for accurate delivery to the scheduled stops.

Essential Functions

Operates The Library’s delivery vehicle over a specified route according to a predetermined time schedule.

Handles and sorts library materials of various types for accurate delivery to the scheduled stops, including demonstrating accuracy in reading labels on materials.

Maintains order and cleanliness of vehicle and assigned delivery areas.

Reports maintenance and repair needs to Facilities and Maintenance Manager weekly. In case of emergency the report should be same day.

Attends staff meetings and continuing education workshops.

Performs other related duties.
