Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt | Payrate: $27.00/Hour | Schedule: Monday - Wednesday 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Sunday 5:30 AM - 1:30 PM (Required to pick up another shift during the week [Varies])

Job Summary: The Shuttle Driver Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of guests to and from the Emergency Shelter Program while supervising a regional team of Shuttle Drivers. This position includes overseeing vehicle maintenance, providing administrative support, and ensuring the safe operation of the fleet vehicles. In addition to transportation duties, this position offers on-site shelter logistics support during downtime or when needed by the shelter’s leadership team, assisting with tasks such as cleaning, laundry, food service, and safety checks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Shelter Support

Assist in the implementation of daily shelter activities to ensure quality, client-focused, and trauma-informed delivery of services

Encourage and discuss progress toward housing with shelter guests

Assist with shelter set-up, food distribution, and maintenance

Assist with all cleaning duties and safety of facility including emptying trash cans, cleaning up spills, and general groundskeeping

Provide safety and wellness checks

Assist with receiving and verifying orders from vendors, completing tally sheets

Post and update signs and service calendars

Assist in the organization of supplies and facility’s needs
Driving and Reporting

Complete daily maintenance checks and safety inspections

Drive program vehicles in a safe and orderly manner to pre-approved locations

Check that all safety restraints are in working order and are utilized correctly

Maintain the overall cleanliness of the vehicles

Safely load all guests in the safest way possible

Safe and appropriate use of hydraulic wheelchair lifts

Typing and planning daily routes based off several possible drop-off locations

Generate and submit daily route and maintenance reports

Meet transportation goals in a challenging and always changing atmosphere
Management

Coordinate closely with the Mercy House Fleet Manager regarding moving or taxiing fleet vehicles in and out of the area for maintenance services

Schedule drivers’ Paid Time Off, and take responsibility for approving shift changes between drivers and for finding shift coverage when no driver is available

Be available to cover shifts and open positions outside the normal work schedule

Approve official time reports and submit them to the appropriate administrative staff

Train new drivers on routes, equipment, and procedures

Inspect drop-off and pick-up locations for maintenance/cleanliness, and coordinate with the drivers the cleanup of those locations as per the Mercy House Good Neighbor Policy

Coordinate and assign weekly detailing duties with drivers, to ensure clean vehicles inside and out

Provide direct support to both the Mercy House Fleet Manager and the Program Manager

Attend staff meetings as required and attend training workshops as needed

Perform ad hoc projects as appointed by Supervisor
