Driver/Utility Worker (Station House)

Position Summary: Utility Worker/Drivers are responsible for supporting the daily operations of food services including driving for pickups and deliveries, cleaning, stocking and inventory control. Must have a High School Diploma or GED and must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, and bend. Must be able to lift/carry heavy crates and items weighing up to 50 pounds minimum.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for lifting and carrying heavy crates and other containers, (50lbs minimum).
  • Responsible to keep storage areas clean, maintaining and documenting the inventory of food and food services.
  • Responsible for the collection of trash from food service area.
  • Responsible for cleaning kitchen and dining area floors including sweeping, mopping, polishing, etc. and washing walls, appliances and performing other cleaning tasks as directed, in accordance with federal, state and local codes and requirements.
  • Required to pick up and deliver purchased and donated food and food-related supplies and deliver prepared food to Programs, using agency vehicle.
  • Responsible for maintain food service van, including vehicle log and ensuring it’s fueled.
  • Responsible for kitchen set up, including, but not limited to ensuring that trash receptacles, paper supplies, food utensils, appliances and other necessary items are retrieved from storage and placed appropriately for food preparation.
