Job Summary:
As a “Dry Cleaner” Seamstress Valet, you will provide expert garment care, alterations, and repair services for distinguished guests and hotel operations. This role combines dry-cleaning support, tailoring expertise, and valet-style service to ensure guest clothing, employee uniforms, linens, and draperies are maintained to the highest luxury hospitality standards. Responsibilities include performing alterations and repairs, pressing and finishing garments, coordinating dry-cleaning services, inspecting items for quality, and delivering exceptional personalized service while maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include following. Other duties may be assigned:

Provide custom fitting, mending, and emergency alterations for guest attire, including evening gowns, tuxedos, hemming, zipper replacements, and button repairs.
Process and fulfill urgent and same-day guest valet laundry, dry-cleaning, and press requests in coordination with the Laundry Department.
Inspect, repair, alter, and maintain employee uniforms to ensure a polished, professional appearance consistent with luxury hospitality standards.
Maintain and repair hotel linens, bedspreads, draperies, cushions, and decorative fabrics, repurposing damaged items whenever feasible to reduce waste and control costs.
Issue, track, record, and distribute clean employee uniforms while identifying and replacing worn or damaged garments.
Accurately log guest laundry orders, pricing, garment counts, and special care instructions to ensure timely and error-free service.
Communicate with guests regarding alteration appointments, service timelines, garment care recommendations, completion dates, and pricing.
Conduct professional fitting appointments and provide personalized alteration consultations for guests and team members.
Assist customers at the alteration counter, answering questions and recommending appropriate tailoring solutions.
Utilize computer systems to create, update, and track alteration tickets, work orders, and service requests.
Operate and maintain sewing machines, pressing equipment, and related tools, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Monitor inventory levels of sewing supplies, including thread, needles, zippers, buttons, patches, and specialty fabrics, and submit reorder requests as needed.
Inspect finished work for quality, ensuring all garments and textiles meet hotel presentation and service standards before delivery.
Collaborate with Laundry, Housekeeping, Front Office, and Engineering teams to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional guest service.
Ensure complete compliance with The Broadmoor guidelines, operational procedures, safety policies, and institutional standards for excellence (Forbes Travel Guide and AAA Five-Diamond).
Maintain a willingness to learn about The Broadmoor’s history, estate grounds, wilderness properties, culinary offerings, and retail outlets.
Execute additional duties and responsibilities as required.

What we are looking for:

Minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
Previous experience in sewing, tailoring, or seamstress is highly preferred; however, an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional background will be considered.
Proficiency with industrial or commercial sewing machines, hand-stitching, pattern fitting, and fabric care.
High attention to detail, discretion with VIP and guest belongings and a calm demeanor under tight turnaround pressures.
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation and email communication.
A highly motivated team player who connects easily with colleagues and drives results through positive energy and seamless collaboration.
Excellent communication skills, negotiation, conflict resolution and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs. with assistance and proper safety practices.
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by the calendar of events.
