As a DTS Database Developer, you'll be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining the database platforms that underpin critical business and transport systems across SYMCA. Working closely with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners, you'll ensure data is accessible, reliable, secure, and ready to support evidence-based decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to help drive digital transformation by improving data quality, enabling self-service reporting, and delivering innovative solutions that support major organisational initiatives.

Key Highlights:
  • Design, develop, and optimise enterprise database solutions and integrations.

You're a skilled database professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. You enjoy working collaboratively, translating complex technical concepts into practical business solutions, and helping others make better use of data. With experience managing database environments and delivering reliable data solutions, you're motivated by continuous improvement and committed to maintaining the highest standards of data integrity, security, and compliance.

What You'll Bring:
  • Strong experience in SQL database development, optimisation, and administration.
  • Strong experience of managing databases in a clustered environment.
  • Experience of supporting SQL in an Azure environment.
  • Expertise in writing complex SQL statements and SSIS packages for data integration.
  • Expertise in developing data pipelines, integrations, and managing complex datasets.
  • A proactive approach to troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of data protection principles and secure data management practices.
  • The ability to build positive relationships and support colleagues through training and guidance.
