DV-Cleared QA Test Infrastructure Engineer
Summary
A QA Test Infrastructure Engineer ensures quality of defence-sector products moving from proof of concept to production by testing physical network infrastructure and IaC (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes) across cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP. Onsite in Leamington Spa five days a week; requires active DV clearance and sole British nationality.

Requirements:- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs, and related network behaviours.
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting physical infrastructure, including routers, switches, and cabling.
- Proficiency with the Linux/Unix command line for diagnostics, configuration, and validation.
- Experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware and VirtualBox, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Terraform, including writing and validating HCL, managing state, and using modules.
- Experience with Ansible, including building playbooks, roles, and inventories, and validating idempotency.
- Experience with Kubernetes, including deploying workloads, validating manifests, managing clusters, and testing containerised applications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience integrating IaC validation and environment checks into automated pipelines.
- Understanding of pipeline gating, automated readiness checks, and environment orchestration.
- Strong grounding in Secure-by-Design principles, IAM, least privilege, OS hardening, network segmentation, and observability.
- Experience in regulated or highly governed environments, such as MOD or similar.
- Ability to support compliance, assurance, and accreditation activity.
- Must be a sole British national and hold active DV clearance.
- Ensure the quality of products as they move from proof of concept to production.
- Analyse infrastructure requirements and architectures.
- Create infrastructure-focused strategies.
- Design and execute tests across physical infrastructure and infrastructure as code (IaC).
