Multiple Opportunities Across National Security
If you're a cleared Cloud, Platform or Data Engineer and quietly wondering what else is out there, this is a good place to start.
I'm currently supporting a range of engineering-led SMEs, specialist consultancies and technology businesses across the National Security ecosystem — with demand spanning Cloud, Platform, DevSecOps, Data and MLOps.
Rather than push you towards one vacancy, my approach is to understand what you'd actually want from a move and give you an honest view of the organisations that might offer it.
The best employers I'm working with right now differ technically, but there are some common themes: modern engineering environments, greater ownership, strong cultures, investment in L&D and increasingly varied approaches to hybrid working.
Several of the engineers I've placed weren’t actively looking when we first spoke. They simply wanted to understand what else was available.
Current Demand I'm particularly interested in speaking with:
- Cloud Engineers / Cloud Architects
- Platform Engineers / SREs
- DevOps & DevSecOps Engineers
- Data Engineers / Data Architects
- MLOps / ML Engineers
- Technical Leads across Cloud, Platform and Data
Across the market, that means environments spanning AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, Python, modern data platforms, AI/ML infrastructure and cloud-native engineering.
You don't need to tick every box. The right opportunity will depend on your background and where you want to take it next.
Clearance Most of the organisations I support are delivering on live National Security programmes, so active DV or eDV is typically required.
Occasionally, opportunities open for exceptional SC-cleared engineers with the right technical background and a realistic route to higher clearance, but these are the exception rather than the rule.
Not actively looking? That's completely fine.
If you're curious about which organisations are genuinely investing, how engineering cultures compare, or simply what your experience is worth in the current market, I'm always happy to share what I'm seeing.
If nothing else, you'll come away with a clearer picture of the market — even if your next move is still a year away.
