General Description and Classification Standards
The Security Specialist, Sr., under the supervision of the Security Supervisor, is responsible for conducting consistent and well-documented daily security roving patrols, performing facility physical security inspections, enforcing ID badge policies and delivering security briefings. The Watershed Security Specialist, Sr. helps maintain a safe and secure work environment, serving as both a deterrent to intruders or theft and an assurance of accountability.
This position may also require issuing identification badges to all employees within an assigned department, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Deactivating and recovering ID badges from terminated employees or contractors
• Maintaining accurate accounting and secure storage of ID badges at all times
• Assisting with the semi-annual audit of ID badges
• Performing routine to complex clerical and administrative tasks in the ID badge office
• Processing requests for tours or visits to secure areas.

Supervision Received
Performs work under general supervision with review and advice from manager or a senior level professional. May work independently or with other workers with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct security roving and foot patrols within assigned zones, ensuring the safety
and security of the premises.
Document and submit daily security patrol reports and physical security inspections.
Report and document all security-related incidents, breaches, safety concerns, and violations. Submit work orders for issues identified during patrols.
Assist with DWM investigations by thoroughly documenting incidents and collaborating with the DWM Facility Management group.
- Maintain availability for on-call duties as required; work hours and shifts may vary based on departmental needs.
Support departmental goals and objectives in alignment with management practices and directives.
Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, ensuring proper protocols are followed
Required Skills and Qualifications
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Proficient computer skills, including expertise in all Microsoft Office products
Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment
Strong team player with outstanding customer service abilities
Comfortable working in a high-tech environment, with a willingness to continuously learn new tools and technologies
Flexible to work all shifts and willing to assist the team with overtime as needed
Must hold a valid driver's license
Minimum Qualifications – Education & Experience
Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, or a related field, or have three (3) years’ experience in a security operations center or law enforcement; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Preferred Licensure & Certifications
Must be able to acquire Homeland Security Certification I, II, and III.
- NIMS Training 100B, 200B, 700A, and 800B within the first year of employment.
