Dynatrace System Engineer - Big Data
We're looking for a Dynatrace System Engineer – Big Data to join our team in Zürich, Switzerland, in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will design and implement observability solutions that ensure performance, availability, and reliability of large-scale Big Data platforms. Your expertise will help drive operational excellence, proactively prevent incidents, and optimize system resilience.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end monitoring and observability solutions using Dynatrace
- Monitor and optimize performance, reliability, and availability across Big Data environments including Trino, Kubernetes, and Kafka
- Develop dashboards, alerts, and actionable insights for operational efficiency
- Apply proactive monitoring strategies to detect risks early and prevent incidents
- Perform performance analysis, capacity planning, and root cause investigations
- Collaborate with platform, data, and operations teams to strengthen stability and operational excellence
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience with Dynatrace administration, configuration, and observability practices
- Strong background in Big Data environments
- Knowledge of monitoring and performance tuning for Trino, Kubernetes, and Kafka
- Ability to apply proactive and preventive approaches to operational monitoring
- Experience with incident management and troubleshooting in distributed systems
Nice to have
- Familiarity with object storage technologies such as S3
- Experience with Dataiku
- Exposure to the Apache ecosystem (e.g., Hadoop and related components)
- Understanding of Apache Spark and large-scale data processing platforms
