Position Overview: The Dyno Tester is responsible for the setup, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and documentation of downhole drilling motors using dynamometer (dyno) testing equipment. This position ensures motors meet operational, quality, and customer specifications prior to field deployment. The Dyno Tester works closely with maintenance, repair, quality, and operations teams to deliver reliable downhole drilling equipment to customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate dynamometer testing equipment for downhole drilling motors.
- Perform functional, performance, and pressure testing of positive displacement motors (PDMs) and related drilling tools.
- Monitor and record motor performance data, including torque, RPM, pressure differential, flow rates, and efficiency.
- Perform pre-test and post-test inspections of motors and associated components.
- Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained in proper working condition.
- Follow all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies and procedures.
- Assist with motor teardown, assembly, and repair activities as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing reliability and testing efficiency.
