SALARY RANGE: $55,000 – $63,000

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is seeking an Early Childhood Arts Specialist, Ongoing Teaching Artist Professional Development, Wolf Trap Institute, to provide content development and quality oversight for programs and activities of the Wolf Trap Institute with a specific focus on ongoing teaching artist professional development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide ongoing virtual and in-person professional development (PD) opportunities for DC Metro area Wolf Trap Teaching Artists. Ensure content quality, effectiveness, and grounding in research-based, best practices in the arts, early childhood and adult education.
  • Oversee content for multi-day trainings for Wolf Trap Teaching Artists (such as STEM) presented in the DC Metro area and affiliate network. Monitor implementation of these trainings and make recommendations for improvement/enhancement.
  • Develop and prepare resources, materials, agendas, and PowerPoint presentations to accompany ongoing teaching artist professional development offerings.
  • Monitor residencies and provide lesson and content feedback to teaching artists in their classroom residencies and other activities, to ensure high-quality professional development for educators in accordance with the Wolf Trap model (specific portfolio assigned).
  • Maintain online access to teaching artist professional development resources, including session materials and follow-up content, extending learning opportunities beyond live participation.
  • Stay current with trends and initiatives in Early Childhood Education, STEM, adult learning, coaching, virtual learning, professional standards, and academic content and approaches.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with Wolf Trap Teaching Artists locally and in affiliate sites to ensure high quality programming and alignment with the Wolf Trap model.
  • Collaborate with Assistant Director, Early Childhood Development and Learning; Early Arts Specialist; and Manager, Teaching Artist Services to design and implement Annual Teaching Artist Resource Night and contribute to Affiliates Annual Meeting.
  • Consult on other teaching artist professional development activities, as requested.
  • Represent Wolf Trap Institute with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
