About the Role
The Early Intervention Intake Specialist supports the mission of City Rescue Mission by providing help, hope, and healing to individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This position serves as a compassionate first impression of the organization while helping clients identify pathways toward stability, housing, and self-sufficiency.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome and assess individuals seeking services.
- Conduct intake interviews and determine eligibility for shelter, housing, and support programs.
- Help clients identify safe alternatives to homelessness through diversion and problem-solving conversations.
- Accurately complete client intakes and maintain documentation.
- Enter and update information in HMIS and other databases.
- Respond calmly and professionally to crisis situations.
- Coordinate services with shelter, housing, recovery, and case management teams.
- Maintain accurate records and support reporting requirements.
- Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
