Job Summary
You will supervise and support children’s learning in a safe environment while fostering family and community partnerships to enhance care continuity and program effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Promote the Centre’s vision, mission, and values to align team efforts and community engagement
- Supervise classes to maintain a safe, supportive, and conducive learning environment for children
- Observe, evaluate, and document children’s developmental progress to inform individualized care and learning plans
- Conduct routine caregiving tasks to meet children’s daily needs and wellbeing
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families to support continuity of care and learning between home and Centre
- Manage collaboration with families and community stakeholders to coordinate activities that enrich children’s experiences
- Engage families, caregivers, community stakeholders, and volunteers to co-develop programs and services that meet community needs
- Develop initiatives and programs that support the Centre, families, and community to enhance learning outcomes
- Plan and implement outreach activities to promote Centre programs and services within the community
- Evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and programs to ensure continuous improvement and impact
Required competencies and certifications
- Certificate in Infant and Toddler Care and Development (CIT) or Higher Certificate in Infant Care (HCIC) or Advanced Certificate in Early Years (ACEY)
- Registration with ECDA and attainment of EY1/EY2 certification
- Ability to work professionally, independently, and efficiently with strong classroom and management skills
- Effective interpersonal skills to communicate professionally and responsively with all internal and external stakeholders
- Capability to execute reflective practice and apply responsive caregiving approaches
