Assistant Swim Coach

Position Summary:

Primarily supports the Head Coach by assisting with various aspects of the swim team program, including coaching, training and administrative tasks. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere for the swim team and for YMCA.

Essential Functions:

• Builds effective, authentic relationships with other coaches, athletes and parents.
• Assisting with practices to include instructing and motivating swimmers.
• Remains current in the field through certifications and trainings
• Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool, aquatic areas and the Y.
• Other duties as assigned by Head Coach or Y Leadership

Physical Demands:

• Ability to occasionally lift equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs
• Employee frequently is required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, stand, walk
• Practice and Meet environment for multiple hours - loud, standing/sitting in an aquatic environment
