Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Registered ECHO Tech, you will provide specialized cardiovascular care, maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort while performing and reviewing baseline patient assessments and evaluating responses to diagnostic cardiac procedures. Every day you will expertly operate and maintain all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment essential for cardiovascular procedures, ensuring precision and accuracy, and diligently monitor patient responses throughout the process. To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Echocardiography Technologist, possess advanced technical proficiency in operating and maintaining specialized CV equipment, and demonstrate a keen understanding of patient assessment and safety protocols in diagnostic cardiac procedures.

  • Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physician.
  • Performs specialized testing using computer assisted devices including, but not limited to TEE, Stress Echo, Pharmacological Stress Echo's.
  • Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient response by informing primary health care team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes.
  • Maintains high skill level through participation in CQI, inservices, ongoing education, and attendance at 80% of staff meetings.
  • Promptly troubleshoots and corrects recording instrument malfunction or unusual patient problems that interfere with recordings.
  • Must be able to adjust approach based on patient/family level of understanding of test procedure.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS through the American Heart Association
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree in one of the following: Cardiovascular Technology, Ultrasound, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy or Nursing or graduate of a programmatically accredited program in cardiac ultrasound(echocardiography)
  • One (1) year of experience in cardiac ultrasound
