eComm Web Developer
Summary
Build and maintain full-stack eCommerce web apps using Next.js/React, Angular, and .NET Core, integrating with Shopify Plus, Azure services, and payment gateways.
We're seeking an experienced eComm Web Developer with strong hands-on experience designing and building eCommerce web applications. This role owns the full stack — from front-end UX to back-end services and integrations — and works closely with product, UX, and platform teams to deliver scalable, high-performing commerce experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive, high-performance web applications for eCommerce storefronts and related customer-facing platforms
- Build front-end experiences using Next.js/React and Angular, ensuring fast page loads, SEO-friendly rendering (SSR/SSG), and strong Core Web Vitals scores
- Develop and maintain back-end services and APIs using Azure Integration Services, including integration with commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus or headless commerce solutions)
- Architect and implement headless/composable commerce solutions, integrating storefronts with PIM, OMS, CMS, payment gateways, and search/merchandising engines
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and design systems into pixel-accurate, accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA) implementations
- Optimize application performance, including caching strategies, CDN configuration, image optimization, and bundle size management
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (unit, integration, E2E), and code quality standards
- Integrate third-party services such as payment processors, tax engines, shipping APIs, and marketing/analytics tools
- Participate in architecture discussions and provide technical recommendations for scalability, security, and maintainability
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, collaborating with product owners, QA, and DevOps teams
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of professional web development experience, with a significant focus on eCommerce platforms
- Strong proficiency in Next.js/React and Angular (experience across both is a plus, though deep expertise in one with working knowledge of the other is acceptable)
- Solid backend development experience with .NET Core / C#, including RESTful API design and microservices architecture
- Experience with at least one major eCommerce platform (Elastic Path, Shopify Plus, Commerce Tools, BigCommerce, or similar headless commerce solution)
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB) – Azure SQL experience preferred
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of eCommerce-specific concerns: cart/checkout flows, payment integrations (Stripe, Adorable, PayPal, Braintree), tax calculation, inventory sync, and order management
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Strong grasp of web performance optimization, accessibility standards, and SEO best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with design, product, and business stakeholders
- Experience with eCommerce platforms, integrating payment gateways, inventory management systems, and other third-party applications.
- Experience with CMS upgrades, patches, application insights and monitoring.
- Familiarity with cloud hosting environments (Azure, AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, or related field (or equivalent experience)
PREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE
- Experience with headless CMS architectures and decoupled front-end frameworks
- Knowledge of web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics)
- Experience with PIM systems, digital asset management (DAM) or marketing automation platform integrations
- UX/UI sensibility; ability to translate design mockups into functional web components
