EDA Engineer - Taipei/Hsinchu/Tainan

【About the Role】
As an EDA Engineer, you will develop software and automated workflows for processing GDS data and supporting semiconductor manufacturing applications.
You will work with compute-intensive and data-intensive layout-processing systems, improving how large and complex design data is transformed, analyzed, and prepared for downstream machine learning pipelines. Your work may span EDA algorithms, workflow automation, runtime optimization, and production software development.
You will work closely with machine learning engineers, data scientists, optimization engineers, and domain specialists to turn layout-processing requirements into reliable and scalable software systems.

【Responsibilities】

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain EDA software and automated workflows that process GDS data for semiconductor manufacturing and downstream machine learning systems.
• Implement and optimize algorithms for large and complex layout datasets, considering correctness, scalability, runtime performance, memory usage, I/O, and resource utilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EDA components into production systems and broader machine learning pipelines.
• Follow and promote good engineering practices through clean and testable code, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and clear technical documentation.

【Key Qualifications】

• Strong programming and software engineering fundamentals, with proficiency in Python, C++, or other relevant programming languages.
• Experience developing software for GDS processing, EDA applications, layout-processing systems, or another closely related domain.
• Understanding of layout-processing concepts and the algorithms used to transform, analyze, or validate complex geometric data.
• Ability to design reliable workflows for large, compute-intensive, or data-intensive datasets and diagnose issues involving algorithm correctness, runtime performance, memory usage, I/O, and system integration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with an interest in developing meaningful ownership of EDA software and processing workflows.

【Preferred, but Not Required】

• Experience optimizing large-scale geometric or layout-processing workloads.
• Understanding of parallel and concurrent programming, including multithreading, multiprocessing, asynchronous execution, or GPU-accelerated processing.
• Experience with profiling, benchmarking, and performance-regression testing for compute-intensive and data-intensive systems.
• Experience developing machine learning or deep learning systems and integrating EDA processing workflows with downstream machine learning products.

You do not need to match every preferred qualification. We value strong software engineering fundamentals, practical EDA experience, and the ability to learn and improve complex layout-processing systems. We are hiring for both mid-level and senior-level engineering positions, and the scope and expectations of the role will be considered based on your experience and seniority during the interview process.

【Work Location】
This position is based in Taipei, Hsinchu or Tainan, Taiwan, depending on business needs and candidate preference.
