Job Title: EDI Developer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled EDI Developer to design, build, and optimize our Electronic Data Interchange systems and integration workflows. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end technical development of data maps, translation schemas, and integration pipelines. The ideal candidate has 3 to 4 years of hands-on development experience with a deep technical understanding of ANSI X12 transaction sets, specifically within Supply Chain and Retail/Wholesale operations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, secure, and timely electronic data exchange with our trading partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• EDI Mapping and Development: Maintain and optimize the current production EDI environment while taking full technical ownership of onboarding new trading partners, including requirements gathering, gap analysis, map development, and comprehensive testing.
• Transaction Set Expertise: Expertly configure, develop, and maintain maps for the following critical EDI transaction sets:
• 850 (Purchase Order)
• 855 (Purchase Order Acknowledgment)
• 940 (Warehouse Shipping Order)856 (Advance Ship Notice/Manifest)
• 810 (Invoice)
• 753 (Request for Routing Instructions)
• 754 (Routing Instructions)
• 214 (Transportation Carrier Shipment Status Message)

• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Daily monitoring of EDI transactions, identifying, analyzing, and resolving errors and transmission failures promptly to ensure business continuity.
• System Integration: Collaborate with IT, WMS (Warehouse Management System), and ERP teams (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to ensure seamless integration of EDI processes and data flow into internal enterprise systems.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including mapping specifications, trading partner profiles, implementation guides, and internal support procedures.
• Trading Partner Management: Act as the primary technical liaison with external trading partners (customers, vendors, 3PLs/Carriers) to manage compliance, testing, and resolve complex data exchange issues.
• Process Improvement: Proactively recommend and implement enhancements to existing EDI systems and processes to improve efficiency, data quality, and compliance.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive, hands-on experience as an EDI developer.
• Proven experience working with a major EDI translation software (e.g., IBM Sterling Integrator, Gentran, Mulesoft, Boomi, or similar).
• Solid experience with ANSI X12 standards and protocols.
• Demonstrated expertise in the specified transaction sets: 850, 855, 940, 856, 810, 753, 754, 214
  

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in data mapping and transformation.
• Working knowledge of communication protocols such as SFTP, AS2, VAN (Value Added Network).
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing transaction data in databases.
• Familiarity with XML and other data formats used in B2B integration.
