About Turing
Turing is one of the world’s fastest-growing AI companies, accelerating the advancement and deployment of powerful AI systems.
Turing helps customers in two ways: Working with the world’s leading AI labs to advance frontier model capabilities in thinking, reasoning, coding, agentic behavior, multimodality, multilinguality, STEM, and frontier knowledge; and leveraging that work to build real-world AI systems that solve mission-critical priorities for companies.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Technical Writing & Editing Expert for a frontier AI data initiative. Experts will design, evaluate, and refine realistic tasks to improve the reliability and usefulness of frontier AI agents within a digital-corporate setting (think: access to documentation platforms, API specs, developer portals, style guides, release notes, Slack, E-mail, and Git repositories). Experts will work with technical datasets to write long-horizon tasks that test source content interpretation, structural editing, technical documentation authoring, style guide application, and clear communication of complex technical ideas.
Requirements
- 3–8 years of hands-on experience as a Technical Writer, Editor, Content Strategist, or a closely related documentation role.
- Hands-on experience with modern documentation tools and workflows (e.g., Markdown, Docs-as-Code, Git, Confluence, Notion, MadCap Flare, or static site generators).
- Proven experience producing professional technical deliverables such as user guides, API documentation, release notes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge base articles, and copyediting reviews.
- Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts and raw engineering inputs into clear, well-structured, and precise documentation while identifying issues in organization, tone, consistency, and clarity.
- Demonstrated ability to write high-quality prompts, technical scenarios, and structured evaluation rubrics for AI training tasks is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with standard editorial style guides (e.g., Microsoft Manual of Style, Google Developer Documentation Style Guide) is a helpful plus.
Responsibilities
- Identify and document representative Technical Writing and Editing workflows suitable for long-horizon AI task development.
- Author realistic task scenarios involving technical documentation drafting, structural editing, style guide compliance, API spec formatting, and user guide creation.
- Produce expert tasks and gold-standard solutions in the functional area that meet the pod's quality bar, working under senior review and incorporating calibration feedback.
- Define task context, required source inputs, expected documentation deliverables, and evaluation criteria based on Functional SME Lead standards.
- Prepare reference artifacts, revised drafts, style guidelines, and detailed rubrics to grade task accuracy and editorial clarity.
- Validate that assigned tasks can be solved using available tools, source materials, and documentation environments without relying on unsupported external assumptions.
- Review task implementations by team members, provide actionable feedback on technical realism and rubric coverage, and deliver work aligned with project milestones.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in any field.
- Experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or a related analytical role is preferred but not required.
