EDS Fleet and Warehouse Technician (7800)
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
SCHEDULE/HOURS: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (35 hours/week)
This position is responsible for:
Performs routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles; performs minor plumbing and carpentry repair work; drives Salvation Army large vehicles and transports equipment and supplies in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains a constant state of readiness to deploy in support of Emergency Disaster Services throughout the Florida Division
- Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs of Salvation Army vehicles And equipment.
- Drives vehicle in order to deliver and pick up materials and supply items;Delivers product at assigned destinations according to schedule; Unload trucks receiving delivery of product; Unload trucks receiving delivery of product.
- Maintains all tools, supplies, parts, and equipment belonging to Divisional EDS Department; Monitor inventory levels of critical inventory; Inventory items received, shipped, and stored.
- Supervises volunteers and community service workers at EDS warehouse as they perform routine janitorial support as well as work projects initiated by EDS Logistics Coordinator.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull heavy (50 lbs or more) materials, supplies, and equipment frequently.
- Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, possible snow, heat or other discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
