Education Coordinator RN
The Dayton, Ohio VAMC is looking for a responsible and accountable Supervisory Registered Nurse that will supervise the education staff and will provides educational instruction and training for nursing staff in clinical and outpatient units.
Major duties include but not limited to: Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising staff education. Delivers a fundamental understanding of adult learning principles and a lifelong learner that can practice with flexibility to adapt or change learning strategies based on the assessment of learning needs within the healthcare organization. Functions as a formal and informal educator and/or mentor; serving as a liaison between internal and external customers. Demonstrates leadership abilities by providing scholarship information sessions for applicants and guides them related to growing nursing services and professional practice. Promotes a learning environment that embraces new knowledge, innovations, and improvements for scholarships, tuition reimbursement, and affiliations. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in the department level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
