EEG Tech
This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus
Performs, recognizes and understands electroencephalograph (EEG) and evoked potential (EP)* activity displayed on inpatients and out patients. Provides electrocardiograms, 24-hour holter monitor hook-ups, infant hearing screens and stress testing. Provides procedures for patients from newborn to maturity in keeping with departmental standards and practices. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Certified/Registered in performing Electroneurodiagnostic studies or an equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION: NA
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: NON-REGISTERED – 6 months in performing EEG’s in a clinical setting. REGISTERED – Professional credentials in a least one modality
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: REGISTERED - 2 years in Electroneurodiagnostic technology
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: NA
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Registered ABRET
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
