This Position reports to:
R&D Team LeadYour role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.

This role is contributing to the Motion Business High Power Division, Bangalore, India
You will be mainly accountable for:
Proven experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers and fostering technical growth within teams.
Technical leadership in design discussions, architecture reviews, and project planning activities.
Strong capability to drive engineering best practices, coding standards, and software quality initiatives.
Experienced in cross-functional collaboration with product management, system architects, QA, and customer-facing teams.
Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities for complex system-level challenges.
Ownership mindset with a demonstrated ability to lead projects from requirements through deployment and production support.
Qualifications for the role :
Bachelor’s / master’s degree in computer science, electronics or electrical engineering, or related field with 10-13 years of experience with expert level knowledge in programming with C++, particularly C++ 17 & CMake.
Intermediate level knowledge in programming with python.
Experience in Embedded Linux or Yocto based Linux distributions with solid understanding of concepts of bootloaders, kernel modules and cross compilation.
Experience working with Linux based software development environment including familiarity with Linux command line, file system hierarchy, and shell scripting.
Good understanding of computer networking basics such as DNS, DHCP, Proxies, Subnets etc.
Good knowledge in IoT protocols such as MQTT and networking protocols such as HTTP, TCP/IP and experience working with IOT devices.
Good understanding of cyber security best practices.
Excellent problem solving and debugging skills and Ability to mentor and lead fellow team members.
