Job Summary
The EH&S Coordinator I plays an essential role in establishing and promoting a culture of safety within the Industrial Services specific sites they are assigned, focusing on compliance with both internal safety policies and external regulatory requirements. This position involves overseeing safety protocols at a specific site, ensuring the site adheres to the highest standards of workplace safety and health. By conducting regular audits, providing training, and implementing safety programs, the EH&S Coordinator II works to minimize risks, reduce workplace accidents, and maintain a safe, healthy environment for all employees. Through collaboration with various departments and site leadership teams, this role supports the organization’s commitment to safety, demonstrating the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding the well-being of its workforce.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support site safety training programs, new hire orientations, daily safety meetings, and compliance with required certifications (OSHA, MSHA), while maintaining accurate training records in KPA.
  • Implement and enforce company, client, and regulatory safety policies through routine jobsite monitoring, inspections, audits, and corrective action management to ensure compliance and hazard mitigation.
  • Lead incident investigations, manage injury response processes, document findings, complete root cause analyses, and track corrective actions through KPA and other reporting systems.
  • Partner closely with operations, employees, customers, and safety leadership to promote a proactive safety culture, provide field support, and maintain effective communication across project teams.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and reporting, while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting safety analytics, compliance reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations by coordinating with regulatory agencies, supporting audits and inspections, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety performance through emerging best practices, process improvements, employee engagement, and collaboration with site and area leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Safety Management.

Other duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • OSHA 510 certification and at least 2 years of experience in heavy industrial construction environments, including manufacturing, mining, power, refining, pipeline, or food & beverage industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Ability to identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and developing strategies to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with employees, leadership, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain), proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and experience using safety management software for reporting and documentation.
  • MSHA certification or related mining safety experience preferred.
