The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing environmental, health, and safety programs that protect employees, facilities, and the environment while supporting operational excellence. This position will drive process and system improvements across the organization, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture. Additionally, this position will collaborate with EHS professionals across the Thermal Solutions Segment to share best practices, standardize programs where appropriate, leverage organizational expertise, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, compliance, and operational performance throughout the segment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong manufacturing experience, proven regulatory knowledge, and a passion for creating a culture where safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement are integral to business success.

DESCRIPTION:

• Drive the development, implementation, maintenance & enhancement of EH&S policies, procedures, and programs at the C/A Design flagship facility located in Exeter NH.
• Provide EH&S support for the production and facility needs of the Exeter site as deemed necessary by the Exeter Operations and Engineering leader in conjunction with the Segment EH&S Director.
• Through a continuous improvement mindset, collaborate with C/A leadership team (Operations, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Facilities) to proactively identify and implement processes, procedural, and system improvements that mitigate risk, prevent injuries, enhance compliance, and strengthen overall safety performance.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and work areas to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and practices, and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver EH&S training sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors to promote awareness and compliance with EH&S policies and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EH&S regulations and standards, and maintain records and documentation as required.
• Partner with Human Resources to ensure onboarding experience for all new hires reflects a safety-first mindset.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, prepare incident reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor EH&S performance metrics, analyze trends, and prepare reports for SR leadership; when called upon present to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead and drive the EH&S committee and represent the EH&S department in internal and external audits and inspections as required.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Serve as a resource and partner to EH&S Site Safety Coordinators at additional segment locations within the platform, providing guidance and support on EH&S issues and initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field required.
• Certifications (Preferred): Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), OSHA 30-Hour Certification, First Aid/CPR Certification
• 10 + years’ experience showing increased responsibilities in a high performing, complex manufacturing organization. (high precision machining/industry experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and state regulatory requirements.
• Experience with AS9100, QMS Programs.
• Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and training abilities.
• Effective project management and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management software.
• Ability to analyze data and develop actionable improvement plans.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
• Ability to frequently use hands and fingers to operate machine controls, tools, and measuring instruments.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and components weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required to load, unload, and inspect parts and equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the hands, wrists, and arms.
• Ability to visually inspect parts, interpret and read blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and use gauges, and measuring devices.
• Ability to distinguish colors, dimensions, and surface defects when performing quality inspections.
• Ability to hear and communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to safely operate equipment in a fast-paced production setting while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and other equipment as required.
• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to machine noise, metal chips, cutting fluids, lubricants, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance and work scheduled shifts, including overtime as required.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment.
• Frequent interaction with machine tools, raw materials, and finished products.
• Compliance with all company safety policies, housekeeping requirements, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention practices.
• Required use of appropriate PPE and adherence to all safety procedures.
