EHS Leader
- SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Environmental, Health & Safety:
- Through the auditing program, ensure employee compliance to the company’s safety and environmental systems.
- EH&S incident investigation and reporting.
- Leads site EH&S training.
- Monitors, maintains, and develops Company Safety programs.
- Primary contact with Toronto Water and MECP on environmental regulatory issues.
- Primary contact for community concerns.
- Maintains & develops the internal EH&S auditing program.
- Main contact for Fire Department, owns fire protection plan.
- Co-ordinates employee safety & JHSC meetings. Maintains and summarizes key KPIs related to environmental issues.
- Monitors, maintains, and develops Company Environmental programs.
- Manages effluent treatment system with a “Hands-On Approach”.
- Manages hazardous waste, waste and recycling disposal contractors.
- Waste water spill reporting.
- CHEMTRAX reporting.
- NPRI reporting.
- EASR Reporting.
- Stays up-to-date on all Federal, Provincial and Municipal reporting requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Plant Services:
- Manages building security (keys, key fobs, etc).
- Updates Nitta TV and physical bulletin boards.
