- Applies and interprets standard scientific theories, concepts, and techniques.
- Formulating w/b coatings, including sound deadeners and underbody materials.
- Formulating rubber-based adhesives and sealants; obtains approvals from automotive OEMs.
- Finds and approves alternative raw materials: Scaling-up to Production. Problem-solving.
- Writing reports for customers.
- Runs routine chemical analyses, tests, determinations, and investigations.
- Develops solutions to problems (customer and internal)
- Utilization of applicable government regulations (DOT, TSCA, FDA, etc.)
- Participates in trade shows, conferences, and technical seminars
- Guides and mentors the research efforts of less experienced technical staff.
- Interacts with other technical staff, sales, business managers, and the outside technical community.
- Prepares and presents project reports to customers and project sponsors.
Maintains a lab book according to company standards.
