Our client is a leading engineering and technology company specialising in engineering solutions and technical services for the semiconductor and microelectronics industry. They are seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to support automation projects involving PLC, SCADA, electrical instrumentation, commissioning, and system integration at semiconductor manufacturing facilities.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 6:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage automation projects to ensure timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout project execution.
  • Troubleshoot control system issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including I/O lists, cable schedules, cost estimates, and operation manuals.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and site acceptance activities for newly installed systems.
  • Modify and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA/DCS programs.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, including P&ID, PFD, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Support continuous improvement and technical enhancements for control systems.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Nitec in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens S7/TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 is an advantage).
  • Basic knowledge of SCADA programming (Emerson DeltaV is an advantage).
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings such as P&ID, PFD, electrical diagrams, and system architecture drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of electrical power systems (single-phase, three-phase, AC/DC) and cable sizing.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical control and instrumentation systems, including 4–20mA, 24VDC, I/O troubleshooting, Ethernet, and fibre optic cabling.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
