Job Purpose


Responsible for safe, reliable, and efficient operation, maintenance, installation, calibration, and fault-finding of electrical and instrumentation systems across industrial and plant environments, including telemetry systems.

The role supports production and operational continuity by applying high-level technical skills, ensuring compliance with statutory standards, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems across industrial/plant environments.


Required Qualifications:


  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • N4-N6 Certificate in Electrical Engineering
  • N-Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Advantage)
  • IE Wireman’s License
  • Trade Test for Instrumentation/Mechanician
  • ORHVS Certificate (Advantage)
  • First Aid Level 1 (Advantage)

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Electrical systems,especially Instrumentation & Telemetry.
  • Basic knowledge of Computer Aided Design Systems and Tools.
  • Basic Knowledge of PLC Control panel wiring,Soft Starters and Drives setup and commissioning.​
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical hazards.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and Outlook.
  • Valid Driver’s License.





Requirements

EXPERIENCE

    § 2 to 3 years work experience in industrial electrical or instrumentation environments such as mining, water treatment plants, manufacturing, or utilities.
    § Experience with installation, wiring, and termination of electrical and instrumentation equipment including motors, sensors, transmitters, control valves, and field instruments.
    § Experience reading electrical schematics, loop diagrams, cable schedules, and control panel drawings.
    § Experience with calibration and basic troubleshooting of field instruments such as pressure transmitters, level sensors, flow meters, and temperature instruments.
    § Experience with motor control systems including contractors, overload relays, soft starters, and variable speed drives.
    § Experience performing electrical fault finding on LV distribution panels, MCCs, and control panels.
    § Basic knowledge of industrial communication networks such as Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet, or similar fieldbus systems.
    § Experience with cable installation, glanding, termination, and testing for power and instrumentation cables.
