Clarke Energy Australia is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Design Draftsperson to join our Engineering team. Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer, this role will play an integral part in supporting the delivery of EPC projects through the preparation of high-quality electrical drawings, technical documentation and design deliverables

What you will be doing

As an Electrical Design Draftsperson, you will be responsible for preparing detailed electrical designs and documentation from specifications, concepts, technical briefs, sketches and site inspections. Working closely with engineers, project teams, suppliers and clients, you will help ensure project deliverables are completed accurately, efficiently and to the highest standards

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to major power generation and energy infrastructure projects while developing your technical expertise within a collaborative and supportive engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare electrical design plans, layouts, drawings, material lists and technical documentation for projects and tenders
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings including single line diagrams, control schematics, cable schedules, block diagrams, system architecture drawings and termination diagrams
  • Coordinate drafting deliverables to support project execution and tender preparation
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and contractors during the design phase of projects
  • Provide electrical design support to project and installation teams
  • Assist with procurement activities and preparation of bill of materials for construction projects
  • Maintain drawing registers and ensure document control processes are followed
  • Manage and maintain current electronic and hardcopy drawing files
  • Respond to technical enquiries from subcontractors and project stakeholders
  • Assist with design problem solving and development of efficient technical solutions
  • Provide progress reporting on design deliverables and project status
  • Support supplier evaluation, equipment selection and procurement processes
  • Participate in factory inspections and factory acceptance testing when required
  • Assist with commissioning activities and operation and maintenance documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering systems and processes

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in electrical drafting and design within power generation, industrial, mining, construction, manufacturing or related industries
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential)
  • Experience with ePlan P8 (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of electrical drawings and documentation standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and document control skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preparing technical documentation and reports
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
  • A collaborative approach and strong team focus
  • Australian work authorisation is required at the time of application
