Job Purpose

The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for creating and developing innovative product designs, ensuring that they meet both functional and aesthetic requirements while adhering to safety, quality, and performance standards. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting design analysis, and producing technical drawings and specifications for applicable workcenters.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead component engineering for the electro-mechanical components, specifically electric motors including research, development, and evaluation of design concepts based on requirements for various AG applications.
• Technically evaluate new and existing designs for appropriate functionality and the ability to pass all relevant validation tests.
• Document component requirements in technical specifications for new design and current product applications.
• Develop simulation and power flow analysis for vehicle level electrical systems
• Develop, review and report component design validation plans (DVP & DVPR), and support vehicle level tests.
• Utilize prototypes as needed to validate new designs and subsystems.
• Document functional specification for the component including integration with vehicle.
• Analyze and optimize the energy flow within a system.
• Create and update documentation including design quality procedures, DFMEAs, test specifications, through all phases of the product development.
• Implement 8D, 5 Why and Kaizen processes for problem solving, specifically for root cause analysis.
• Lead technical discussions with suppliers through the different stages of product development.
• Facilitate and support component related technical discussions between cross-functional teams including-engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, supplier quality, etc.
• Participate in reviews of schematics, design reviews, DMUs, and hardware requirements that impact component design.
• Understand the purpose, application, and feasibility of current global product development process, hardware process for new product and quality resolution.
• Support in the enhancement of existing products or processes.

Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• OEM experience or Tier 1 product development experience.
• Good understanding of EMC in electronics, design of electro-magnetic products like motors
• Experience with ProE/CREO (or other MCAD SW like Unigraphics or Catia)
• Experience with Automotive Environmental Validation requirements and test procedures for electrical and electronic components
• Experience with Teamcenter or other Product Lifecycle management tools and Digital Mockup Environments
• Experience with CAN vehicle communications (i.e. J1939, ISO11783)
• Experience working with Off-Highway/On-Highway vehicles

Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is $74,625 - $114,425 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
