Electrical Design Engineer - II
Substation Design Engineer - II will be
responsible for the engineering and design of medium-voltage (MV)
and high-voltage (HV) Air Insulated Substation (AIS) and Gas
insulated substation (AIS) projects including
Modifications/Upgradation of existing substation in the 4kV -
550kV range.
Design Engineer-II will perform standard
electrical design computations or analysis and perform basic
design tasks applying standard techniques and procedures.
Work as part of the substation design
team, which serves utility, industrial, renewable energy customers
who have a goal to deliver power efficiently and reliably,
maintain power quality, and control and manage electrical networks.
Implement Design and design knowledge of
IEEE, NESC, CEC & NEC.
Work with project team to provide design
and Design in areas including, but not limited to:
· Substation / switchyard general
arrangement, layout & elevations
· Grounding/Earthing studies and design
· Equipment selections and reviewing
vendor drawings/ specifications.
· Equipment documentation reviews
· Auxiliary power (AC and DC) design
· MV & HV Cable Calculations
· Bill of Materials
· Lightning protection analysis and design
· Illumination design
· Prepare new and modify existing relay
drawings including relay panel arrangements, single lines, three
lines, AC & DC schematics, equipment wiring, and relay panel wiring.
· Review existing drawings/conditions and
incorporate changes per customer requirements/standards.
Collect data and gather information and
support production of the design. Generate design and detail
drawings including orthographic, plans/sections, and isometrics by
using 2D or 3D CAD software / computer-aided drafting tools such
as AutoCAD.
Prepare, update, and support the project
execution, in own area of responsibility, and proactively manage
this work in accordance with the project schedule with emphasis
on; On-time delivery, Quality of deliverables and project costs,
project safety.
Quality processes and document control
procedures to ensure design documents/deliverables are complete
and accurate. Notify the project lead of any difficulties.
Encountered in the design that may impact safety, reliability,
quality, cost, or schedule of the PHAZYS project deliverables and
provide recommendations for solutions.
Preferred Candidate -
· Minimum two to four-year work experience
in developing drawings design by using 2D or 3D AutoCAD or Micro
Station CAD software as a transmission substation designer.
· Electric Utility Power Company Experience.
· HV & EHV Substation Design Experience.
