Electrical Design Engineer (Industrial/Data Center)
Develop electrical designs for industrial facilities, data centers, and other types of buildings.
Design and coordinate electrical systems including:
Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) distribution
Transformers, switchgear, LVSB/MDB, SMDB and distribution boards
UPS, ATS, generators and emergency power systems
Power distribution and critical power systems for data centers
Lighting and lighting control systems
Earthing/grounding and lightning protection
Cable sizing, cable routing and voltage drop calculations
Electrical protection and coordination
Prepare electrical single-line diagrams (SLD), schematics, layouts, equipment schedules, cable schedules and design drawings.
Perform electrical load calculations, short-circuit calculations, voltage-drop calculations and other engineering calculations.
Develop electrical specifications, design criteria and technical documentation.
Coordinate electrical design with architecture, structural, mechanical, fire protection, plumbing and other engineering disciplines.
Review equipment selections, technical submittals, shop drawings and material specifications.
Participate in design reviews and resolve technical coordination issues.
Conduct site surveys and verify existing electrical conditions where required.
Support project teams during construction, testing and commissioning when required.
Review electrical installations and provide technical clarification to contractors and clients.
Ensure designs comply with applicable Indonesian standards, PLN requirements, SNI, IEC and relevant international standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
3–7 years of relevant experience in electrical design, preferably in industrial facilities, data centers, commercial buildings, or other mission-critical facilities.
Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems.
Experience preparing electrical engineering drawings and documentation.
Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP/BIM is highly preferred.
Familiarity with electrical design and calculation software is an advantage.
Good understanding of MV/LV systems, generators, UPS, ATS, transformers and protection systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications, drawings and equipment datasheets.
Good coordination and communication skills in a multidisciplinary project environment.
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with architects, engineers, contractors and clients.
Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
Must be able to communicate fluently in English
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with data center electrical design and critical power systems.
Experience with industrial facilities, manufacturing plants or other high-load facilities.
Experience with BIM/Revit-based electrical design.
Familiarity with IEC, SNI, NFPA and other international standards.
Experience supporting electrical testing and commissioning.
Professional engineering certification/registration is an advantage.
Experience working with international consultants is a plus.
