Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design and construction supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing electrical system designs, reviewing shop drawings, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, and supervising construction activities to ensure quality, safety, and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design

• Prepare electrical designs for commercial, industrial, hospitality, residential, and mixed-use development projects.
• Develop single-line diagrams, load calculations, voltage drop calculations, cable sizing, and equipment schedules.
• Design power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding, lightning protection, and low-current systems.
• Review and approve electrical shop drawings, material submittals, and technical proposals.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, and civil disciplines to ensure design integration.
• Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, international standards, and project specifications.

Construction Supervision

• Supervise electrical installation works on-site and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor the quality of electrical works executed by contractors.
• Review method statements, inspection requests, and testing & commissioning procedures.
• Attend site meetings and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during construction.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of electrical works.
• Verify contractor measurements, variations, and progress claims.
• Witness testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Support implementation of project quality assurance and quality control procedures.
• Promote compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, inspection reports, and project documentation.

Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Dialux.
• Experience with electrical calculation software such as ETAP or equivalent.

Strong knowledge of:

• Saudi Building Code (SBC) and local authority regulations (preferred)
