Electrical Designer/Drafter

We are looking for a detail-oriented Electrical Designer / Drafter to support our engineering and field services teams. In this role, you will create and maintain high-quality electrical drawings and design packages that support power system studies, testing, commissioning, and capital projects. Location: Preference will be given to local candidates, although remote work may be considered for the right candidate.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and revise electrical drawings, including:
• • Single line diagrams
  • Three line diagrams
  • Protection and control schematics
  • Panel layouts and wiring diagrams
  • Substation and equipment layouts
• Translate engineer markups, field redlines, and technical notes into finalized drawings
• Support engineering teams with design packages for studies, upgrades, and commissioning work
• Maintain drawing standards, templates, and revision control practices
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field technicians to ensure drawings reflect real-world installations
• Assist in compiling project deliverables and drawing sets for clients

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field
• 3+ years of experience producing electrical drawings (power systems experience preferred)
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with AutoCAD Electrical is an asset)
• Familiarity with substation, industrial power, or protection and control drawings
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple revisions and deadlines
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams
• SKM or ETAP experience would be a plus

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with utilities, industrial facilities, or EPC firms
• Exposure to protection and control systems or relay schematics
• Experience supporting field commissioning or as-built drawing updates
• Familiarity with document management systems or drawing standards programs
